The challenge

The consulting and software company has set itself the goal of adding the up-and-coming topic of business intelligence and data analytics to its portfolio. The challenge was to develop a new business area from scratch, including building up the product portfolio, establishing BI solutions with existing customers and acquiring new customers.

My solution

As Head of BI and Data Analytics, I spent eight years developing and managing a new business unit with a broad product portfolio and customer base in various industries.

As a foundation, a specialized, agile development team was set up, an efficient sales structure was formed and a partner network with the market-leading manufacturers of data platforms was established.

On this basis, as well as through close cooperation with customers and the enablement of their employees, numerous BI and data analytics environments, architectures and data solutions have been successfully established.

The added value

The establishment of the new BI & Data Analytics division has created the following added value:

Expansion of the product portfolio to include the Business Intelligence and Data Analytics division

Building a specialized team of 12 data integration and visualization experts

Establishment of an efficient sales structure

Implementation of technological partnerships (with market-leading BI and DA platforms)

Implementation of strategic partnerships to open up new sectors

Establishment of numerous BI and data analytics environments as well as data solutions for four existing customers

Acquisition and development of three new customers into long-term business relationships
