The challenge
The customer’s challenge was to create cross-market transparency in the vehicle certification process based on a BI and data analytics solution that acts as a single point of truth.
The particular difficulty: the management of very heterogeneous requirements from different markets, as well as the poor database in terms of data quality and availability.
My solution
In the role of requirements engineer, I developed all use cases and requirements in joint workshops and interviews with the stakeholders of the international markets and harmonized them for the cross-market target solution.
As part of an agile development project (Scrum), a central data pool was created to consolidate the data from the operational systems.
Optimized data quality through an automated testing framework and quality monitoring and implemented a cloud-based business analytics solution that visualizes the daily progress of the certification processes.
The added value
Through the requirements workshops and the implementation of the data analytics solution:
Created a prioritized set of cross-market use cases for the sustainable optimization of the certification process
The technical experts are able to analyze the certification processes of the markets, series and disciplines
Earlier detection of delays and bottlenecks enables
Control and ad hoc adjustment of schedules and capacities enables
Enabling daily data-driven decisions for management
Continuous monitoring of data quality established and sustainably integrated into data governance processes
